After 41 rounds of edge-of-your-seat action, Jalen overtook the competition and won the championship! Minute to Win It 2010-2011 Minute to Win It 2009-2010 Beaver County PASR Spelling Bee 2010 Each year the Beaver County Branch of the Pennsylania Association of School Retirees sponsors a 6th grade spelling bee. Because an Aliquippa student, Trevon Chappell, won the 2009 bee (way to go, Trevon!), Aliquippa was given the opportunity to host the bee in 2010! Dresden Brtko represented Aliquippa, with Jasmine Carter serving as alternate. After more than 50 rounds of heart-stopping action, Henry Atkins from New Brighton was named the winner, followed by Charlie Bowers of Center in second place, and our own Dresden in third. Aliquippa's Best Dance Crew contest 2008 Miss Mills, Miss Clendennen, Mrs. Diamond, and Mrs. Smith sponsored the "Aliquippa's Best Dance Crew" contest, held on May 22nd, 2008. Students from grades 5 - 8 formed dance crews, chose music, choreographed their own moves, practiced nonstop, and put on an AMAZING show for the entire school. Status Quo wowed the audience with the addition of krumping by a surprise crew member at the end of their routine and WON the contest. | |
